The World of Photography Panel Discussion and Slideshow

Sunday, November 19. 5:30PM - 7:00PM

The World of Photography Panel Discussion and Slideshow, presentation by four of Marin Photography Club’s award winning photographers is open to anyone interested in photography – hobbyists, students, collectors, etc. and will include a panel discussion and slide show covering many types of photography, plus the latest in cameras and equipment. A question and answer to session to follow.

The program will include:

Macro Photography – David Vaughn

Macro photography is all about showcasing a subject larger than it is in real life — an extreme close-up of something small. A full-frame insect in a five-by-seven-inch photo and a four-inch product shot of a cornflake go well above life-size: both are examples of macro photography.

Nature Photography – Steve Disenhof

Steve Disenhof's photography spans many genres including dance, sports, events, street and nature and he is a founding member of the Bay Area volunteer service group, ProBonoPhoto.org. Steve has served in many capacities within the Marin Photography Club, including President, Education Chair, and salon and special interest group leader.

Street Photography – Steve Ziman

“I have been doing photography for 50 years, but really got serious about it when I retired in 2006. I took classes at City College of San Francisco, and at the same time went to digital. I joined the Marin Photo Club in 2012, and got a masters class in all aspects of photography through competitions and salons. Though I will take images in almost all areas of photography, I really enjoy Street, Monochrome, Architecture and Red Rock country.”

Portrait Photography – Doug Kay

Doug Kaye shoots portraits, fashion, dance and street photography and has gone back to large-format film for most of his personal projects. He served as co-president of the Marin Photography Club and has created some of the club's special-interest groups including a Photoshop SIG, the Street SIG, the Portrait SIG and the Film/Alternative Processing SIG.
