What is a center for the arts?

Our vision is a unique venue that intersects culture, art and community.

A venue that reflects our community and its rich artistic history.

A venue for gathering people and organizations throughout the region.

A venue that serves as a source of inspiration for people of all ages, colors and backgrounds.

A venue and safe space for discussion, debate and education.

Our mission is to enrich the cultural experience of Marin and unite our community through diverse artistic expression for the benefit of all.

We invite you to join us on our mission.

We encourage you to voice your ideas, your questions, and desires for the arts and community.

Your gifts and support will enable us to fulfill our mission and enrich our community.

Thank you for your support!

Imagine a place where creativity flourishes, where diverse voices unite, and where our community's rich artistic heritage comes alive. This is the Sausalito Center For The Arts.

We're not just a building – we're a vibrant hub where culture, arts, and community intersect. Our vision? To create:

  • A unique venue that celebrates Sausalito’s artistic legacy

  • A gathering space that brings people together from across the region

  • A source of inspiration for all ages, colors, and backgrounds

  • A safe haven for open dialogue, creative debate, and lifelong learning

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to enrich Marin's cultural tapestry and unite our community through diverse artistic expression, benefiting everyone.

But we can't do this alone. Your support is the brushstroke that completes this masterpiece. Your donation will:

  • Fund engaging exhibitions and performances

  • Support local artists and emerging talents

  • Provide arts education programs for youth and adults

  • Maintain a welcoming space for community events

By contributing, you're not just giving money – you're investing in the heart and soul of Sausalito. You're nurturing creativity, fostering understanding, and building a stronger, more vibrant community for all.

Help Us Complete Phase 2 of the SCA Buildout

The transformation of a former bank building into a vibrant, multi-use artistic venue is well underway—but we’re just getting started. With your help, we can take the next steps to fully realize this vision and continue to celebrate and expand Sausalito’s artistic legacy.

What We’ve Accomplished So Far (Phase 1)

In 2022, the Sausalito Center for the Arts launched a capital campaign to fund the Phase 1 Buildout. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised the substantial amount of money needed to:

  • Remove outdated banking infrastructure like teller stations and glass offices.

  • Replace carpeting and repaint the building’s interior.

  • Repair plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.

  • Purchase audio/visual equipment, furniture, and supplies to support a wide variety of artistic events.

The results? A flexible, welcoming venue that has already hosted dozens of art exhibits, live music, theater, dance, panel discussions, fundraisers, and more. This progress is only possible because of donors like you.

The Next Steps: Phase 2 Buildout

Now, in year two of our transformation, we’re focusing on critical upgrades:

  • Replacing interior lighting to enhance the atmosphere and showcase artwork.

  • Painting the building exterior to reflect the vibrancy of the creativity within.

  • Purchasing essential equipment to host even more professional and diverse events.

We estimate these improvements will cost an additional $250,000. Your support will make it possible to take this artistic hub to the next level, ensuring the Sausalito Center For The Arts becomes a cornerstone of the community.

Why Your Contribution Matters

Our lease terms require us to fund all remodeling, making donor contributions vital to our progress. By donating to the Phase 2 Buildout, you’re directly investing in:

  • A space for artists to thrive and showcase their work.

  • A venue that fosters connection through events and performances.

  • Sausalito’s legacy as a city that celebrates and supports the arts.

Take a moment to watch the short video above to see the incredible progress we’ve made in 2024—and imagine what’s next with your help.

Donate Today to Bring Phase 2 to Life

Every dollar brings us closer to our goal of completing this transformation. Together, we can create a dynamic arts venue that inspires creativity, fosters community, and celebrates Sausalito’s rich artistic heritage.
