Camille Przewodek Memorial Exhibition
SCA is honored to include Camille Przewodek’s paintings in this year’s Event in memorial of her long-celebrated legacy in the Colorist tradition and Plein Air movement. She judged the 2023 Paint Sausalito Event, as well as exhibited her work.
Camille was a Signature Member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters and the California Art Club; and a Master Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, and American Women Artists. She was a renowned painter, an authority on color, and presented painting workshops across the United States.
Camille Przewodek's creativity was centered around her excitement over light as it falls on the landscape at specific times of day. In addition to her art training at Wayne State University in Detroit, and earning a BFA in Illustration at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, Camille Przewodek studied painting with master colorist Henry Hensche at the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Her approach to capturing the colors and light effects of nature garnered extensive coverage in numerous interviews, books and magazine articles, and her paintings have been featured in national ad campaigns for clients Alfa Romeo, Target, Loews Hotels, and others.
