Just steps from the picturesque waterfront, Bohème Out of the Box comes to Bridgeway in iconic downtown Sausalito, where boutique shops, gourmet eateries, and breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay offer a perfect day in the North Bay.

Performances will be held in the parking lot next to the Sausalito Center for the Arts, and guests are encouraged to visit the gallery space which will be showcasing the work of over 250 artists from the Marin Open Studios. These performances are presented in partnership with the Sausalito Parks & Recreation Department and the Sausalito Center for the Arts. 

Bohème Out of the Box brings a modern twist to Puccini’s classic opera La Bohème. This unique 70-minute production is performed on a mobile stage made from a repurposed shipping container. The performance, featuring live music with excerpts from La Bohème in Italian, is accompanied by spoken English narration available on guests’ cell phones.

Originally conceived as part of SF Opera's 100th Anniversary season, Bohème Out of the Box offers a new way to experience world-class opera, celebrating the transformative power of music and performance in the heart of Sausalito.

Guests are encouraged to pack a picnic or purchase food and drink from one of the many restaurants located nearby. Chairs will be provided at the parking lot performance location (available on a first-come, first-served basis), and audiences are encouraged to bring their own seating.
