What is homosocial, you may ask? And how does that term relate to his project? Specifically- the photographs, reliquaries and scrapbook circuit boards presented at SCA.

Homosocial is a term within academic circles that relates to two people of the same gender interacting and socializing. For example, movies with homosocial overtones like Thelma and Louise and Fight Club. These movies aren’t about homosexuals per se, but they document the interaction between two people of the same gender.

Join us as Van Camerik describes how an interest in photography as an art form led to a collection of vintage photography, which in turn lead to a multi medium exhibition of Homosocial expression.
