Throughout Foad’s distinguished career as both artist and teacher, he has gained valuable insights, navigating the joys, pressures and freedom that his journey has provided.

Being part of an artist-owned coop, created by young artists following their passion, is central to his story. His art making process, materials and methods, as a means of expression, have evolved over the years.

From his first studio in Emeryville in 1974, though his many years teaching at Dominican, to his present day practice, representation and exhibitions, Foad shares intimate insights into the art world that has been his home.
